Freeport Soda Mint Gum Machine

< < Back To Picture List

When I purchased this machine there was a note card inside sharing the history. Here is the short version...The original owner was Jefferson Anderson. He operated a general store in West Virginia from 1896-1929. He and his wife lived upstairs of the store until 1963 when he passed away. The family had an auction, and his son, Harry, saved a few things including the gum machine. It stayed with Harry until he passed away in 1984. At that time Harry's daughter Linda acquired the gum machine. Linda lived in Burnsville, MN and sold it to Bud Gott in March, 1990---and then found a home in the impressive Jack Freund collection until I was able to purchase it in April, 2010. I had always admired the machine whenever I visited Jack. It is in excellent original condition with a neat embossed tin gum advertising sign and equally appealing lettering on the sides. It is a one of a kind vendor which I'm very happy to own.
