Columbus Hot Nut Machine

Old Antique Columbus Hot Nut Peanut Vending Machine

< < Back To Picture List

Hot peanut machine manufactured by the Columbus Vending Company. I bought it from a collector in Utah in Feburary, 2002. I can still remember the transaction because at the time it was the most I had ever paid for a peanut machine. The previous owner bought it from a family who operated a pool hall in Montana. It was barely used and the condition shows it. This particular example is special for several reasons. It is a nickel machine with the long gate and the deeper vending wheel and midsection (Columbus Model B). It has great pinstriping and a Five Cents paper label that says Columbus Hot P-Nut Machine Company. The best feature is the etched milk glass top. You can see an advertisement on page 299 of Silent Salesman Too that shows the hot nut with glass top (most examples only have a light bulb on the top). Also pictured is a Columbus Model E breath pellet machine. < < Back To Picture List
